At the core of the Dakin Pioneer Valley Humane Society’s mission is strengthening the bond between animals and people. Because you are an animal lover, you are willing to go the extra mile for the animals you care about.
Here at the DPVHS we do the same thing—on a much larger scale. Each day we make sure our cats and dogs get the medical care they need before they go off to their forever homes. Despite our best efforts, we occasionally encounter an animal with a health problem that is too big to fix with the limited resources we have at our disposal.
When extraordinary medical treatment is warranted, we look to you for help.
Earlier this year, you responded when Buddy, a German shepherd mix with severe cardiac problems, needed special diagnostic care to prepare him for adoption. His story has a happy ending, but he isn’t the only one who needs your help.
Recently, Loverboy, a magnificent tiger cat, needed eye surgery to correct a problem that had plagued him his entire life. His surgery would have stretched the resources of DPVHS, but it was important that he leave here with the best chance for a more comfortable life. Again, someone stepped up to give Loverboy that chance.
Can you help? Be among the first to make a gift to DPVHS’ new “Buddy Fund,” named not only for the dog that you rallied to help, but for all the animals that are our “buddies.” This medical fund is being established to help pay for diagnostic testing, surgery, medication and other extraordinary needs that place a burden on our already tight medical budget.
Having a designated medical fund makes it possible for more dogs and cats to get off to a great start in their new home. We can’t do it without you.
Make your gift online (please make sure to note that this is for “The Buddy Fund”), or send your check to DPVHS, Attention “The Buddy Fund,” PO Box 319, South Deerfield, MA 01373. Thank you!
